What's New in Liferay DXP 2026.Q2

Von LR Tools · August 23, 2026 · 2 min read

This is LR Tools’ rewrite of Ben Turner’s release announcement on Liferay.dev for Liferay DXP 2026.Q2.

Another quarter, another release

Liferay ships a full quarterly release of DXP on a regular cadence, and 2026.Q2 arrived not long after 2026.Q1 — the pace is fast enough that each release tends to sneak up before the last one’s fully settled in. Here’s what actually shipped.

What’s in 2026.Q2

  • Digital Sales Rooms — in beta
  • Liferay Data Platform — in private beta
  • Cloud Native Experience for AWS — reaching general availability (see our explainer on what Cloud Native Experience actually is if you haven’t run into it yet)
  • Faster search reindexing
  • Style Books UX enhancements
  • A new Global Menu

The release announcement itself doesn’t go deep on any of these individually — for that level of detail, Liferay’s product team held a live release webinar shortly after this went out, with a recording since made available as a separate replay post on Liferay.dev.

Getting it

Where you get 2026.Q2 from depends on how you’re licensed. Free Tier users can grab it from the Downloads page. Enterprise subscribers use the Customer Downloads page (login required). And if you’re running on Docker, whether as a subscriber or on the free tier, it’s a straightforward pull:

docker pull liferay/dxp:2026.q2.0

Questions about the release are best directed to the discuss.liferay.com community forum, where the product team and other users are active.

When a CVE Isn't a Liferay Vulnerability: Presence vs. Reachability

A security scanner finding a CVE in a bundled library isn't proof that Liferay DXP is exploitable through it. Here's how Liferay's security team tells the difference — and why an unnecessary dependency upgrade isn't automatically the safer choice.

DXP Free Tier Licenses: Why the Product Version Doesn't Have to Match Your Runtime

A DXP Free Tier activation key stamped with a quarterly release that hadn't shipped yet looked like a bug. It wasn't — here's what the product-version field in a Liferay license actually means, and why it isn't a strict compatibility gate.
